Yesterday I found a blackbirds nest. It was tucked away – built high off the ground (about 5 feet) within the security of a mature Laurel shrub. I had to be quick so as to not disturb the nest or the parent birds so my photo isn’t great – I pointed the camera through the leaves and took the shot. I was lucky. One sharp image of a back of a young bird, wings splayed out, facing away from me. It was a very warm afternoon – and they were very still, all three of them (I think I see two other beaks here – one in front and another on the right ).
